Dear Praying Friends,
It has been a while since our last update.  As usual much has taken place and we have been busy.  Sara has a new ladies Bible study that started up last month.  She also has started our kids in school once again.  With a 4th grader, 2nd grader, and one spunky Kindergarten student, Sara has her hands full.  She is a blessing and I thank God so much for her.
Last month I took the second installment of a biblical counseling course.  It has been great to be challenged to lead people with biblical truths.  This course has opened my eyes to see how much biblical counseling is needed.  I've found that the Lord has already used this training to bless the work at Grace.  I am looking forward to the final two modules that are still to come.
As with many churches, we have finished our financial year and wrapped it up with our annual business meeting.  I praise the Lord for how He has provided and blessed Grace in the past year.  It has been amazing to see God bringing people in to services, and provided all the finances necessary to meet our responsibilities.
Last I want to share with you the service we had on Sunday the 30th of August.  Our service was lead by our teenagers.  They opened the service by welcoming everyone, reading the announcements, and reading Scripture.  Also, they lead the singing and played the piano for our worship time.  From set-up to clean-up they had a hand in the entire process.  God used them in a special way!  My prayer is that this can happen more often.
Thank you for taking the time to read this ministry update.  Could you right now take a moment to pray for Grace Baptist Church in Watsonia, Victoria?  Pray that God would protect His church.  Pray that He would grow Grace in the time and in the way He so desires.  Also pray that He would give me and my family wisdom as we serve these wonderful people here in Australia.  May God bless you.

Dear Praying Friends,
This month has been an extra special month.  We have had a couple special visitors with us.  Sara's mom and sister have been with us for the month of June.  It was a surprise to Sara as she did not know that her sister would be visiting.  Having visitors allows us to take some time and visit places around our great state of Victoria.  Jesus taught His disciples to take a rest from ministry in Mark 6:31 "And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while:"  I have quickly found that in ministry there is no end to ministry!  There is always something more we could be doing, so it is good to take the time and have a break to recharge.
The recharging has been sprinkled in between ministry this month.  Sara took the ladies of Grace to a local restaurant for the annual Ladies Day Out.  It was a great time for the women to get together in fellowship and have some good food too.  There were several ladies in attendance and I've heard from a couple how encouraging it was.
This month we have been without our deacon, Joel.  He has taken a special trip to the Philippines to be with his "home church" where he and his family came from.  The pastor of this church died suddenly.  Joel mentored him as a young man, so the loss was felt all the way down here in Melbourne.  If you can remember, please pray for Joel and this church in the Philippines as they try to recover and move forward with ministry.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read this update.  Your prayers are invaluable.  Please keep praying for the Lord to work in the hearts of the people at Grace Baptist Church in Watsonia, Victoria.  God bless you all!

Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for your role in the ministry here in Australia.  I am thankful that you are reading this update so that you can do as Paul says in Romans 15:30 "Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;"  Your prayers are vitally important to the work here, and the Lord is answering them.  Please continue to strive with us in prayer for the people of Australia!
This past month and a half has been a busy one, as usual.  I have had the privilege to teach SRI once again.  SRI stands for Special Religious Instruction.  I am able to speak to a group of children at a local primary school for 30 minutes a week.  There is approved material that I teach, but it gives me contact with young people in our community.  My prayer is that the Lord would use this contact to bring glory to Himself.  This year I have a great group of children that have been very attentive to the lessons and have asked great questions too.
Next week Grace Baptist will give plates of biscuits (cookies for you Americans) to the staff at the local school where we meet on Sundays, the local police department, and the local fire brigade.  This is to show our appreciation for their service within our community and to let them know that on the last Sunday in May we will have a special time of prayer for each group.  It is a wonderful way to share the love of Christ with those in our community.
Please pray for these outreaches.  We want to see people hear of what Christ has done for them and respond by receiving Him as Savior.  Thank you for taking the time to read this ministry update.
